South Survival Guide

There are many things you can do to make your experience here at South a smooth one. Whether it be academic stimulation during the summer or just getting familiar with what all the campus has to offer. You would be amazed at what a difference just a little preparation before hand can make. Here are a few tips just to start...

1. Reading Over the Summer

One struggle that almost every person that goes to school has is starting their brain back up after summer break is over. Two months of doing relatively nothing can take quite a toll, but I've learned that finding a good book over a break can be a good way to keep your brain busy. Plus here at South we have a thing called a common read. It's just a piece of literature that everyone reads together and most English classes use it for in class discussions. So you could get a head start.

2. Familiarize Yourself with the Campus

South offers tours all year long which provides you several opportunities to explore the campus. The sooner you learn the campus, the easier it'll be when school starts.

3. Come to USA Day

Participating in USA Day is the perfect way to introduce yourself to South, get to know other students and learn more about the school. Plus the food is really good.
